The Buttonhole Cutter with Wooden Block is the ideal tool for opening finished buttonholes. The wooden block is placed under the buttonhole, while the chisel is pressed against the block from above.  Only slight pressure is required to cut through the fabric.

 The knife attached to the chisel is applied in the centre between the beads of the buttonhole, and cuts through directly onto the wooden block below.

 Thanks to its precise design, the blade slices through the buttonhole cleanly and accurately, without damaging the beads and bartacks.  This helps prevent unsightly fraying of buttonholes on coats and other garments.
